Not only did the US 50 State Quarters program start a new age in coin collection in America but it also made its way to mainstream pop culture and television as a satire material.
In some famous late night talk shows, parodies of the 50 commemorative coins have been initiated due to the errors made in the manufacturing of some of the pieces that were circulated in public. In any case, people seem to remain extremely interested in collecting these coins and they are prepared to pay the price for it. Hundreds of thousands of these coins were manufactured and circulated starting 1998 and up until today, it continues to be in active circulation.
