Do you think the Federal Reserver is the cause of the commodity bubble?

I was thinking about the Term Auction Facility where the Fed is lending to various institutions. The institutions can use junk securities as collateral. If everyone is trying to blame the high commodities prices on speculation, where is this money coming from such that these institutions can buy to begin with? I have an idea that it might just be the money the Federal Reserve is lending out. Does any else think the Federal Reserve is the cause of this commodity bubble we are seeing?

Yes, it's possible that some of that money from the Fed has ended up in the commodities markets.

Until recently, the Fed didn't lend any money to Wall Street investment banks. These banks had to get money from private investors. But now these banks have lots of cheap money from the Fed. And to make up for their losses in sub-prime mortgages, perhaps some of these banks are now speculating in the commodities markets.

Trading profits is what they are after.

Who is the least expensive online Commodity Broker with the lowest commission rate?

I currently use Farr Financial, paying $18 per option contract. Farr's "OK". Nothing special. I'm low maintenance, this isn't my first rodeo, when I ask the rare question I expect a prompt, accurate answer. Their reply is generally "HUH?" But I don't ask the simple questions, been there, done that. I generally enter a position in grains, or softs, by selling a put. Occassionally I'll be assigned the contract, so I'm looking for the least expensive online commodity broker for grains and softs options and contracts. I understand the numerous additional charges are all standard to the industry. Thank you for your time.

How can i do commodity trading? I have about 20,000 pounds to invest?

I am completely new and wish to start commodity trading. Any advice anyone? Sensible answers only…

Don't get into futures unless you know what you are doing. You could lose everything overnight.

How do crude-oil futures prices in commodity markets translate into big oil-company costs?

Speculation on the commodity exchanges is driven by feelings of concern about political events and other external factors. The cost of crude oil to refineries is determined by actual supply and demand conditions in an entirely different market. Often long-term contracts between the few major oil companies and foreign governments set the cost of crude. Why then is every speculator-driven uptick in oil-commodity-futures prices reflected in higher gasoline prices at the pump? I don't understand the link between the two markets. Can anyone explain this to me?

Profit.

They charge what they think that the market will bear.
